The Summit County Board of Developemental Disabilities no longer provides on site training for Independent Providers. The links below have been provided as places where individuals can sign up for online training. These sites offer both the initial 8 hour required training as well as those required annually and those required for re-certification. Please go to each site to determine which will best meet your needs.
Below are links to training opportunities that will assist you in meeting the initial 8 hour training requirement established by DODD to become a provider . Additionally, DODD has added training requirements that must be met for recertfication.
PMT Training
Physical/Psychological Management Training (PMT) is a crisis intervention class that reviews psychological approaches to managing and supporting behavior, and physical techniques presented in a consistent, easy to master, least restrictive to most restrictive range. Class is hands-on and offers fun practice and participation opportunities.
Summit DD Board offers PMT* Crisis Intervention training each month to new Summit DD direct care employees. This seven-hour training is also available to the public at a cost of $125. Pre-registration is required. Participation is available on a first come, first served basis. Summit DD reserves the right to limit class size based on PMT guidelines. If you have questions or would like to register for PMT classes, please send an email with your name and phone number to training@summitdd.org. Classes are scheduled for the following dates from 8:30am-4:30pm.
