Summit DD Services

Services are offered to people with disabilities in Summit County from the time an infant is diagnosed with a developmental disability, or before age 22 if an incident should occur that results in a disability. To verify eligibility, an application must be submitted and verified through the Board's Intake Department. Once a person is eligible for services, the following services may be available to them:
Residential Services
Residential Services includes Homemaker/Personal Care (HPC) services which are tasks directed at increasing the independence of the person served within his/her home or community. These tasks include assisting the individual with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, transfer and ambulatory needs, skill development, and homemaking tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
 
Children's Services
Summit DD Board provides services and supports in a variety of ways to families of children who have developmental delays and disabilities from birth to age 22. Children from 12 months to age 5 with and without special needs can receive child care and developmental support at the innovative and inclusive Calico Child Care Center. Children from birth to age three can receive early intervention services and supports in their natural environments, in their homes or other integrated community-based settings.
