Summit Metro Parks Fall Hiking Spree
The 59th Annual Fall Hiking Spree is the largest and longest-running event of its kind in the nation. Trails range from easy to challenging. Many of the trails are also wheelchair accessible. First-year hikers earn a hiking staff and shield. Returning hikers earn the shield. Spree rewards are FREE to Summit County residents. Out-of-county residents pay to receive their hiking rewards ($10 for first-year hikers, $5 for returning hikers). Find more details here!

Fall Foliage Driving Tours in Northeast Ohio
As the month of October progresses, we will experience the beautiful fall colors that Ohio is known for. Follow the weekly fall color updates by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) to stay up to date on when the colors are expected to reach peak conditions. Halloween Events
Akron Zoo Boo at the Zoo
Dress your little ghosts and goblins in their costumes for everyone’s favorite non-scary Halloween event, Boo at the Zoo, presented by Acme Fresh Market. Bring your own bag or bucket to collect treats from 12 themed treat stations located throughout the zoo. Learn more here.
- The Zoo also offers a Zoothing Hour on October 29 from 9:30AM-10:30AM. They open an hour early for people with different abilities who don’t like crowds or loud noises to trick-or-treat. Tickets are separate from general admission Boo at the Zoo. Zoothing Hour information can be found here.
Halloween in the Park Hosted By The Autism Society of Greater Akron
The Autism Society of Greater Akron (ASGA) in partnership with Portage Park District (PPD) invite you to trick-or-treat in the park in a supportive, accessible environment. The event is on October 15 from 1-4PM. Details can be found here!
Cuyahoga Falls Halloween Extravaganza
Festivities include the Front Street Trick-or-Treat, a Costume Contest with trophies awarded, an outdoor family dance on the plaza, and more. Discover more on their Facebook page.
HalloWeekends at Cedar Point
The spooky sights and blood-curdling delights of fall are back with the 25th HalloWeekends at Cedar Point! The outdoor fall event is home to daytime fun, Halloween activities and shows for the family. And as darkness falls, fright zones, haunted houses and scary scenes all come alive for all who dare to brave the fog-covered paths and terrifying trails. Celebrating 25 years of fears, HalloWeekends welcomes all souls back once again on Thursday evenings, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays, September 15 – October 30. Details here.

Lake 8 Movie Theater Lights Up Sound Down Sensory Friendly Movies

Akron Children’s Museum
ACM works with Summit DD and exhibit designers to ensure that young visitors are included in all of the fun! Elements such as exhibit height, wheelchair accessibility, and multisensory components are incorporated. In addition, ACM partnered with KultureCity to improve their ability to assist anyone with sensory sensitivites. More information.
