Summit County kicked off Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in record-breaking style! Over 25,000 people united to celebrate Inclusion Day…showing that our great community is strongest when everyone is included!
More than 11,500 people requested inclusion kits, 13,300+ individuals visited the Akron Zoo Inclusion Weekend, and hundreds of businesses, organizations, and community members throughout the county wore orange to show their inclusion pride! Together we truly “painted” the town orange!
See what we all accomplished together in the comprehensive slideshow below! So many happy faces and SO MUCH ORANGE! Don’t forget, this is just the beginning of DD Awareness Month! See how you can continue the celebration throughout the month of March here.
A special thanks to the Akron Zoo for partnering with Summit DD yet again to host three back-to-back Inclusion Days at the zoo. We also receive so much support from countless public officials, city organizations, private disability providers, local libraries, and more. Such amazing partnerships that we value so very much!
