Allyson V. James’ professional experience spans over two decades with a concentration in early childhood education and various essential family services. She is currently the Director for Head Start/Early Head Start and has previously worked as a Deputy Director for the Summit County Department of Job and Family Services. 

Allyson began serving on the Summit DD Board in 2017. She is also a Board Member for the Ohio Head Start Association and a committee member for both the First Things First Early Childhood Project and Summit’s Family and Children First Council.  

Allyson graduated from Cleveland public schools and went on to earn her MS and BS in Sociology from the University of Akron.
