House Bill 169 passes – creating the Mental Retardation Board in Summit County.

Before the inception of the Summit County DD Board, children and adults with disabilities received assistance from volunteers, parents and other local advocates in rented spaces, church basements – and even an old cookie factory. Passage of this bill, allowed for cohesive services throughout the state.
