Inaugural Inclusion Day

Summit DD launches inaugural Inclusion Day on March 16, 2016 to celebrate people of all abilities and community inclusion.

The Inclusion Day was eventually moved to the 1st Monday of March each year to help kick off DD Awareness Month. Throughout the pandemic and beyond Inclusion Day has become a fun, festive way to celebrate community inclusion and has grown to incorporate many partnerships such as the Akron Zoo. Thousands of people from families, individuals, providers, local businesses and schools participate each year by wearing orange and posting photos on social media.
