On November 10, 2021, the Russ Pry Barberton Center held a ribbon cutting ceremony to reopen the building after renovating workshop into office space for Agency employees.
- In April of 2009, Summit DD broke ground on the original Barberton Center. The building was completed and opened in March 2010.
- The Barberton Center served as a Summit DD operated Day Program for 8 years, helping to establish a community presence across Summit County.
- In December 2016, the building was rededicated as the Russ Pry Barberton Center in honor of the late Summit County Executive Russ Pry to recognize his dedication to those served by Summit DD and the greater community.
- November 2021, the Russ Pry Barberton Center ribbon cutting marks the newest chapter in Summit DD’s mission of inclusion and advocacy.
The goal of the renovation project was to create community-based opportunities for those we serve, to engage our workforce, and to remain sustainable into the future.
