Voting Resources

With the election right around the corner, we wanted to share some helpful information that can be used to support people with developmental disabilities who are interested in voting.

This attachment identifies the deadlines for registering to vote, requesting an absentee ballot, and when early in-person voting occurs. In addition, it has some FAQ information if people want to check their registration information and what accommodations those with disabilities can access to ensure they have the opportunity to vote.

Below are links to 3 short videos regarding voting including the remote ballot marking system, and a link to the Summit County Board of Elections. Should you or anyone you know have any questions regarding helping someone vote, we would encourage you to reach out to them.

Thank You! Gratitude Donation Drive-Thru a Big Success.

Thanks to you and your generosity, the Summit DD Gratitude Donation Drive-Thru was a huge success! On April 16th, we had a convoy of nearly 150 vehicles drop off thousands of essential items for not only adults and children with developmental disabilities, but also care givers and disability providers in need of crucial supplies. It’s amazing to see a community come together during a time of need. See the impact you made in the video below. Read More ›

Inclusion is Everywhere

It’s hard to believe that just a few weeks ago, on March 2nd, thousands of Summit County residents and countless community entities joined us in celebrating Inclusion Day in honor of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. We laughed, we cheered, we came together and celebrated people of all abilities.

We know in times like these, it’s easy to feel excluded. If you’re feeling alone, stop, take a breath and realize inclusion is everywhere. It’s just a call, text, or email away. So pick up the phone and call someone you care about. Send a funny emoji to your friend. Email a coworker a silly joke. We are not alone. We are all working toward a common goal. No matter our race, age, gender, or ability. You are included. I am included. We are all included.

Thank you for celebrating DD Awareness Month with us. Together, we are making Summit County, the state of Ohio, and the world a better place for all.

Join us as we look back on the Inclusion Day celebration from March 2nd. And together let’s start planning how we are going to make next year’s celebration bigger and better than ever!
