Family Activities for Winter 2024

With shorter days and colder temperatures, it can be hard for families with little ones to find ways for their kids to play and explore. Good news, our resourceful Developmental Specialists have some excellent suggestions to help your family have fun throughout the cold winter months.

Akron Art Museum: Family Days: Family Days take place primarily on Sunday afternoons from 11am-3pm and are FREE to the public. Registration requested.  This is a drop-in style event that invites families to move around and participate in creation stations & local partners/vendors tables as they enjoy that day’s theme at their own pace.

Fun Family Activities Young children love to move and play, because it is fun! Movement isn’t just fun, it is also important for fostering brain development and involves the interaction of strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, and endurance. CreativeFamilyFun.net’s free play, crafts, sensory play, outdoor play, and structured games are all way to help your little one’s development.

Imagination Library Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners. Once registered your child will receive one book a month through the mail.
