Summit DD’s Appreciation Breakfast and Awards Celebration brought together more than 300 social service agencies, disability providers, local elected officials, community members and families to celebrate the impact of five award winners! This celebration was the perfect way to close out a record-breaking month long celebration of DD Awareness.

Yam Magar, Carlene Weaver Achievement Award
Yam Magar is a sign language teacher at Inter-National Home Care and helps refugees get accustomed to American life. Yam is this year’s Carlene Weaver Achievement Award winner. This award honors an individual with developmental disabilities whose actions or self-advocacy help change perceptions or bring about positive awareness for those with developmental disabilities in their community.
Mark Campo, Russ Pry Community Impact Award
Mark Campo is a Home Modifications Consultant for Summit DD. He is the recipient of the Russ Pry Community Impact Award. This award honors a person (or group) that is making an impact in the community for people with developmental disabilities through innovative programs, volunteerism, advocacy, or awareness efforts.
Britt Ferrara, Dottie Schrum Culture Award
Founder of Buddy Strong Academy, Britt Ferrara is a direct support professional being awarded the Dottie Schrum Culture Award. This award recognizes an outstanding DSP from any organization in the developmental disabilities field, whose efforts or service has gone above and beyond to make a difference for those with developmental disabilities.
Shellie Landry, Dottie Schrum Culture Award
Owner of Just Like Family, Shellie Landry is a direct support professional being awarded the Dottie Schrum Culture Award. This award recognizes an outstanding DSP from any organization in the developmental disabilities field, whose efforts or service has gone above and beyond to make a difference for those with developmental disabilities.
Lucshunda Blackwell, Dottie Schrum Culture Award
Owner of Next Two Kin Supportive Services, Lucshunda Blackwell is a direct support professional being awarded the Dottie Schrum Culture Award. This award recognizes an outstanding DSP from any organization in the developmental disabilities field, whose efforts or service has gone above and beyond to make a difference for those with developmental disabilities.
