Nonprofit Grant Opportunity

(Tallmadge, Ohio) – Summit DD, in partnership with the County of Summit and the Akron Community Foundation, are proud to announce an opportunity for local nonprofit organizations to receive a one-time grant of up to $50,000.

Using the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the Akron Community Foundation will administer the program through two funds: the Summit County COVID-19 Nonprofit Emergency Relief Grant Program Fund and the Summit County COVID-19 Arts and Culture Emergency Relief Grant Program Fund. A total of $5.5 million will be distributed to eligible nonprofits that provide for the basic needs of underserved residents in Summit County. An additional $1.5 million will be allocated to nonprofits in the arts and culture sector.

“Summit DD has seen many nonprofit disability partners in the community impacted by the effects of Coronavirus,” expressed Summit DD’s Director of Community Supports and Development, Drew Williams. “We are grateful to work with the County and the Akron Community Foundation to help provide some much-needed relief.”

Grant application process open through Friday, October 16, 2020

The application process is now open, and applications will be accepted through Friday, Oct. 16, at 11:59 p.m. To review the full program guidelines or see how to apply, please visit akroncf.org/CARESinfo. Those NOT eligible for this grant include: Public, Private or Charter Schools; Colleges or Universities; Hospitals and Clinics; Any government/public service entity; Religious organizations (unless there is a 501c(3) entity established within the religious organization such as a food pantry).
