Event Description

Project inclusion is hosting an “Exploring Akron-Questing” program.

Project Inclusion is a program offered by Summit Psychological Associates, in conjunction with Summit DD, to help connect people with developmental disabilities to existing community programs and explore interests. Project Inclusion facilitators help participants get acclimated to activities, as well as meet others in the classes. Facilitators will then typically fade out within two to three classes, so that participants can enjoy full inclusion and independence in the activity.

Registration Deadline in on May 1, 2015. For actual event dates, see below.

Program Description

What is a Quest?  It is like a scavenger hunt!  For each of our journeys, we will follow a specific route, identifying landmarks as we go on our walking tour.  At the end, we will find the hidden box, where we can read notes from those who were there before us, and leave notes for those who will come after us.  There are many different Quests available in Summit and other nearby counties.

Join us for two Questing journeys!  During the first meeting we will explore the grounds of Stan Hywet Hall and learn about its architecture and gardens. During the second meeting, we will explore the Cascade Locks, meeting at the Mustill Store.

Program Schedule

  • 1st meeting on Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 1-3PM at Stan Hywett Hall. Meeting at the Carriage House.
  • 2nd meeting on Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 1-3PM at Mustill Store (248 Ferndale Street). Meeting in Parking Lot.

Cost

  • $20
  • $10 per accompanying caregiver
